X-Men Star Kelsey Grammer Addresses Potential Beast MCU Return

Original X-Men star, Kelsey Grammer, addresses his potential return to the role of Beast in the MCU. The X-Men film series has had its ups and downs ever since its third outing with X-Men: The Last Stand. However, one of the biggest stand-outs of that film was the perfectly cast Grammer as Hank McCoy, the Beast. His charisma as the character made the film worth watching. However, besides a small cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Grammer was not brought back as the beloved character as Nicholas Hoult played him onward in prequel movies.

Starting with Phase Four, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has entered the Multiverse Saga, which introduced the concept of alternate universes and a multitude of character “variants”. Phase Four introduced the first Mutant characters with Stewart making his return as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Kamala Khan learning she is a Mutant in Ms. Marvel, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever having Namor announcing himself as a Mutant. With the development of Deadpool 3 now having both Reynolds and Jackman’s return, the X-Men’s return is getting closer.

The plot of the Deadpool 3 is still under wraps, but with Reynolds and Jackman returning, it opens the door to numerous possibilities on how the rest of the X-Men cast could return. With the film placed firmly in the Multiverse Saga, Deadpool 3 could most likely take place outside the main MCU continuity and in the original X-Men film series universe, thus allowing more of the older cast, such as Grammer, to show up.

Should Kelsey Grammer be confirmed to return to the X-Men as Beast, this would allow the possibility of other cast members such as Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden, and Ian McKellen to return, which would no doubt please the audience. The new era of Marvel has created numerous possibilities on what the studio can do and should they continue down this path, Grammer’s return could become a reality. Given his enthusiasm for the role, he would be a welcome addition to the MCU.
