Vin Diesel Breaks Silence On Dwayne Johnson’s Fast X Return After Longtime Feud

Fast X star Vin Diesel comments on Dwayne Johnson’s surprise cameo in the film after the two stars’ very public beef. Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X sees Diesel’s Dom Toretto facing off against Jason Momoa’s Dante. The film ends on a major cliffhanger and includes several big cameos, including the return of Gal Gadot as Gisele and a post-credit scene that brings back Johnson’s Luke Hobbs, who is now one of Dante’s targets.

In a recent interview with ET, Diesel now comments on Johnson’s surprise Fast X return, dancing around his past feud with the star during the filming of previous Fast & Furious movies. Check out Diesel’s full comment below:

Johnson first joined the Fast & Furious franchise in 2011’s Fast Five, playing a federal agent and bounty hunter tasked with taking down Dom and his crew. Johnson returned for both 2013’s Fast & Furious 6 and 2015’s Furious 7 but, in 2016, Johnson shared a since-deleted Instagram post in which he referred to unnamed members of the Fate of the Furious cast as “candy asses”.

The Internet speculated that it was Diesel Johnson was referring to, a theory that was further reinforced when Johnson shared another Instagram post days later thanking his costars in which he doesn’t mention Diesel. Letty actor Michelle Rodriguez would later confirm that there was indeed tension between Diesel and Johnson but maintained that the two were still friendly. After F9 was delayed, Roman actor Tyrese Gibson added further fuel to the fire on social media, directly blaming Johnson’s supposed desire to make the franchise about himself for the delay.
